Sonar’s Dry Re-Opening

Sonar nightclub in Baltimore is open once again.

Officials for the club, who said they’d closed the doors in early May over an ownership dispute, announced on Sonar’s Facebook page May 7 that the club had reopened as a dry venue.

“We are working hard at getting our liquor license back in place, this should be resolved very quickly,” the statement said.

The liquor license issues reportedly emerged when the founder of the club chose not to renew the license May 1. Club GM Dan McIntosh told the Baltimore Sun a license transfer to a part owner of the club has been in place but was held up over issues with back taxes, which he said have now been paid.

Upcoming dates at the re-opened venue include Deftones, the “Maryland Deathfest” and Nicole Atkins.
