Anschutz Picks Up Cruise Line

TAC Cruises, a unit of Anschutz Corp., picked up Ambassadors International, including Windstar Cruises, for $39 million in a May 16 bankruptcy auction.

The cash offer includes taking on certain liabilities and is pending a judge’s approval at press time.

Ambassadors operates Windstar’s three-yacht luxury fleet that sails to the Caribbean, Europe, the Americas and the Greek isles, according to Denver’s Business Journal.

The ships carry 148 to 312 passengers between 50 nations and the company lists $87.3 million debt and $86.4 million in assets, according to Chapter 11 documents cited by Bloomberg.
