Anschutz Picks Up Cruise Line

TAC Cruises, a unit of Anschutz Corp., picked up Ambassadors International, including Windstar Cruises, for $39 million in a May 16 bankruptcy auction.

The cash offer includes taking on certain liabilities and is pending a judgeโ€™s approval at press time.

Ambassadors operates Windstarโ€™s three-yacht luxury fleet that sails to the Caribbean, Europe, the Americas and the Greek isles, according to Denverโ€™s Business Journal.

The ships carry 148 to 312 passengers between 50 nations and the company lists $87.3 million debt and $86.4 million in assets, according to Chapter 11 documents cited by Bloomberg.
