Comstock Country Fest Rescheduled

Citing a delay in purchasing the grounds hosting the event along with a holdup receiving anticipated funding, organizers have reschedule this year’s Comstock Country Fest, originally scheduled for June 2-5, to Aug. 18-20.

Taking place at the Second Wind Ranch in Comstock, Neb., this year’s lineup was to include Tanya Tucker, Darryl Worley and George Jones, according to central Nebraska newspaper The Independent. However, with the new dates comes a yet-to-be-announced new lineup.

A message posted on the festival’s website states organizers are in the process of purchasing the festival site in order for fans to have “an enhanced concert experience along with more freedom in entertainment and activities on the grounds.”

The message also mentions a delay in funding which caused a “ripple effect” resulting in Country Fest “being unable to meet the financial obligations to artists.” However, the same message says the funding source is “soon to be in place.”

While ticket refunds will become available June 25, organizers are offering added incentives to persuade folks to hold on to their ducats. Along with the original tickets being good for the new Country Fest dates, ticket holders will also be allowed entry to either this year’s Comstock Rock Fest scheduled for July 7-10, or next year’s Country Fest.
