Parton’s new album, Better Day, the follow up to 2008’s Backwoods Barbie, drops June 28 on her very own Dolly Records label. Parton will debut the album’s first single, “Together You & I,” with a live performance set to air May 27 on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show.” So you get the single in May, the album in June and the tour in July. Nice to see everything line up so, so… chronologically.

The U.S. portion of Parton’s world tour gets underway in Knoxville, Tenn., at Thompson Boling Arena July 17. Other dates include two nights in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl July 22-23; Chicago at Rosemont Theater July 28 and Vienna, Va., at Filene Center At Wolf Trap. Last stop on the U.S. run is Alpharetta, Ga., at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre @ Encore Park Aug. 3. The singer is also on the lineup for Marty Stuart’s 10th annual at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium June 8 during the week of the CMA Music Festival.

Parton begins the U.K./Europe leg of the tour with two nights in Glasgow at the S.E.C.C. Aug. 20-21. Visit DollyPartonMusic.net for more information.
