Philly Club Conjecture

The Philadelphia club scene is either gearing up for growth or putting along just fine, depending on whom you ask.

A recent piece by the Philadelphia Daily News reported that two new venues are headed to town – an 800-plus capacity Bowery Presents club and a 3,000-capacity House of Blues.

Though the paper noted Bowery Presents has already taken a long-term lease on a former Spaghetti Warehouse and is simply waiting on a ruling from the Liquor Control board, a representative for Bowery told Pollstar the story was based on “pure conjecture and regurgitated rumors.”

The Daily News also said Live Nation has made a deal to transform a 7,600-square-foot warehouse on the waterfront into its newest HoB club, but a spokeswoman for LN did not respond to a request for comment.
