Bluegrass Bringing In Green

The Bluegrass Roots and Branches Festival in western Kentucky is off to a good start.

International Bluegrass Music Museum executive director Gabrielle Gray said more than 3,200 advance tickets had been sold for the June 23-25 event in Owensboro.

Gray said 654 tickets were sold in advance of last year’s festival. She added that performers Steve Martin and Emmylou Harris are driving most of the advance sales locally but tickets have been sold in 32 states and three countries.

Music board Chairman Terry Woodward said she wants to cap attendance at 7,500, adding that the museum has booked the Sportscenter in case of bad weather.
