The December oil spill was the result of a leaky valve along a pipeline that delivers crude from Colorado to Chevron’s Salt Lake City refinery, spilling oil at the entrance of the amphitheatre and gardens. The oil has been removed but areas near the concession stands and entrance are reportedly still being restored.
Officials expect Red Butte Garden to be ready for a June 12 concert with Big Head Todd & The Monsters and Toots & The Maytals.
