Dubai Duper Sentenced

A man who managed to bilk a New Jersey investor out of hundreds of thousands of dollars by claiming he was promoting a series of Mariah Carey concerts in Dubai was recently sentenced to 21 months in a federal prison and ordered to pay more than $325,000 in restitution.

Antywan Ross allegedly claimed that his Atlanta-based RDA Group would use the money to promote the concerts and promised the investor repayment with interest.

But after the shows never took place and the investor was never repaid, Ross admitted he’d kept most of the money for himself. He pleaded guilty to wire fraud last year.
