Welch is touring in support of her new album, The Harrow & The Harvest, scheduled to drop June 28 on Acony Records. Called “a new Southern Sound” by Colin Meloy, the Decemberists leader described the effort as “songs you’d expect to hear hollered from an Asheville grange hall, all too late in the evening” while advising folks to “Listen to it on an old radio, cradled next to your ear.”

After a pre-tour appearance at the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, Calif., June 30, the journey begins in Santa Cruz at the Coconut Grove Ballroom July 6 then heads north, playing San Francisco’s Warfield July 7; Grant Pass, Ore., at Rogue Theatre July 9; Eugene, Ore., at McDonald Theatre July 10; Portland’s Roseland Theatre July 12; Seattle’s Moore Theatre July 13 and the Vancouver Folk Festival July 15.

Heading inland, look for Welch and Rawlings to appear in Missoula, Mont., at the Wilma Theatre July 17. Other cross-country stops include Madison, Wis., at Capitol Theatre July 21; Toronto at Phoenix Concert Hall July 25; Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse Aug. 6; Knoxville at Tennessee Theatre Aug. 24 and Charleston, S.C., at the Charleston Music Hall Aug. 28. Welch and Rawlings will also play the Austin City Limits Music Festival Sept. 17.
