Touring in support of its new album, The Family Sign, Atmosphere’s lineup is beefier than the group’s early days in Minneapolis. Beginning life as a two-piece, Atmosphere once consisted of rapper Slug and a touring DJ. These days producer Ant, guitarist Nate Collis and keyboardist Erick Anderson fatten up the Atmosphere sound.

The tour begins right after Atmosphere plays Lollapalooza in Chicago Aug. 6. First stop for the “Family Vacation Tour” is Pontiac, Mich., at the Crofoot Ballroom Aug. 7. Other destinations include Toronto (Aug. 10); Cleveland (Aug. 15); St. Louis (Aug. 17); Denver (Aug. 19); Seattle (Aug. 22); Santa Cruz, Calif. (Aug. 25); Los Angeles (Aug. 26) and Mesa, Ariz. (Aug. 27). Last date (so far) on the newly announced tour is Aug. 28 in Albuquerque, N.M., at the Convention Center.

A ticketing pre-sale began today via Artist Arena. Just click here for more info and here for Atmosphere’s home on the web.
