Azoff And Axl Settle Suit
The parties reached a confidential settlement of mutual satisfaction, Azoff attorney Howard King told Pollstar.
Azoff, former Guns N’ Roses manager, sued Rose in March 2010 claiming Rose owed the company nearly $2 million in unpaid commissions for overseas performances. Rose, as the frontman for Guns N’ Roses, earned $12 million on the shows, and Azoff’s Front Line Management claimed it was owed 15 percent, or $1.9 million.
Rose – the only original member remaining in GNR – filed the countersuit against Front Line Management not only disputing that claim but accusing Azoff of using his power as chairman of Live Nation Entertainment to “punish artists and harm their career if they do not follow his orders” with unfavorable touring deals.
Rose also claimed Front Line mishandled a potential tour with Guns N’ Rose and Van Halen.
