Circus Performer Injured

A Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus performer is recovering from injuries he sustained after falling 20 feet during a show at Colorado Springs World Arena June 11.

A Ringling Bros. spokeswoman said the man, whose name wasn’t released, suffered minor hip and wrist bruises when he fell while preparing for his act on a double-wheel apparatus.

The performer was on the outside of a wheel that rotates on an axis when he fell onto what was described as a thin piece of padding. He was taken out of the arena during an intermission. The cause of the fall is under investigation.
