Some Disturbing News

Disturbed is headed to South America for the hard rock band’s first ever shows on the continent.

The short South American run is set for Aug. 21-27. Shows include performances in Bogota, Colombia, at Palacio de los Deportes (Aug. 21); Sao Paulo, Brazil, at Espaco Lux (Aug. 23); Buenos Aires, Argentina at Teatro Flores (Aug. 25); and Santiago, Chile, at Teatro Caupolican (Aug. 27).

“We are so excited to be playing in South America for the first time ever,” Disturbed frontman David Draiman said. “It’s been a long time coming and we can’t wait to rock the fans down there.”

On Friday the band wraps up a European trek with a spot at “Hellfest – Summer Open Air” in Clisson, France.

Next month Disturbed tops the bill of the fourth annual along with Godsmack and Megadeth. The traveling 26-date festival kicks off July 9 in Devore, Calif., at San Manual Amphitheatre and concludes Aug. 14 in West Palm Beach, Fla., at Cruzan Amphitheatre.

Earlier this year Disturbed’s fifth studio album, 2010’s Asylum, was certified gold by the R.I.A.A. Asylum marks the band’s fourth consecutive album to debut at No. 1.
Fans looking for new Disturbed music can purchase a previously unreleased song titled “3” through the band’s official website. Proceeds from the 99 cent track benefit the Damien Echols Defense Fund, which pays for legal fees, forensic testing and investigative fees for the three men known as the West Memphis Three. Supporters of the West Memphis Three believe the men were unjustly convicted of murder.
