Britney’s Opening Night
That’s right. Discount coupon king Groupon is hawking Britney tickets nationwide through a joint venture with Live Nation, according to the Sacramento Bee. The newspaper reported a “generous range of tickets” was still available for Thursday night’s gig 48 hours before show time. However, the Bee’s review of the show said the show took place in front of a “sell-out crowd.”
But even though tickets may not have been selling as quickly as Britney’s past tours, that doesn’t mean her performance was in any way lacking.
“At 29, the pop star whose career seemed in danger of ending just a couple years ago has shown that she’s back – hopefully this time to stay,” wrote Barry Walters on RollingStone.com.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento Bee’s Carla Meyer wrote that Britney seemed to be having “as much fun as the enthusiastic audience” and noted the star “seemed at ease” once she changed into her “rhinestone-studded Daisy Dukes” denim shorts.
Traveling with Nicki Minaj, Jessie And The Toy Boys and Nervo, the next stop on Britney’s “Femme Fatale” tour is June 18 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
