I.R.S. Revived

The former label home to bands including R.E.M. and The Go-Go’s is getting a second act with an upcoming re-launch by EMI Music.

I.R.S. Records will be reestablished this year as a frontline label under a new partnership betwseen EMI and Crush Management’s Jonathan Daniel & Bob McLynn.

The deal also apparently extends a relationship between Crush and Capitol & Virgin President Dan McCarroll, who formerly worked at EMI. Signings are forthcoming and the label expects new releases will drop later this year.
