Fans Pick Selector

Mikolaj Ziolkowski says he’s happy his Selector Festival opened the Polish summer season by pulling 10,000 per day to a green field site in the centre of Krakow.

Three years ago the Alter Art chief started the event as a platform for emerging talent, although it’s also served the useful purpose of warming up his team for the 60,000-capacity Heineken Open’er Festival June 30 to July 3, which has been voted Europe’s top outdoor for the last two years.

Selector is held in two tents on a park only 10 minutes from the city’s main square. The ground is also used as the Polish Aviation Museum.

The acts at this year’s Selector June 3-4 included La Roux, Klaxons, Crystal Castles, Hercules and Love Affair, The Orb, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, and Katy B.
