Imposter Caught At Arena

Rhode Island State Police arrested a man June 16 at Dunkin Donuts Center for allegedly impersonating a state trooper claiming to be working on a case for an upcoming “American Idols Live” concert.

Police said the 22-year-old man, wearing a tactical vest, badge and other police gear, presented himself to security as a trooper while apparently casing the venue.

The security head didn’t buy the story and contacted authorities. It turns out the man was arrested in March on child pornography and other charges and was out on bail, which has since been revoked.
