Lollapalooza 2011 Aftershows Announced

Cold War Kids, Atmosphere and Arctic Monkeys are a few of the acts who will help fill Chicago with music both before opens its doors and after the headliners have left the stage.

Lollapalooza is set for Aug. 5-7 at Chicago’s Grant Park. The take place in various venues around the Windy City Aug. 3-6. The majority of aftershows booked during the festival begin at 10 p.m., which corresponds to the time the event shuts down for the night.

Cold War Kids get things started Aug. 3 with a gig at Metro featuring Gold Motel, Carbon Tigers and Katz Company.

Aug. 4 aftershows include Death From Above 1979 with Metz at Metro, Crystal Castles with The Naked and Famous at House of Blues, and The Smith Westerns at Schubas.

The Aug. 5 aftershows kick off with The Black Lips and Night Beats at Empty Bottle. Additional shows include Atmosphere with Prof, Evidence and Blueprint at Metro; Lykke Li with Foster The People at House of Blues; and Afrojack with Perry Farrell at The Mid.

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart with Young Man begin the Aug. 6 festivites with a gig at Empty Bottle. Arctic Monkeys with Disappears will be at House Of Blues, while White Lies with Rival Schools take over the Double Door.

Tickets for the Lollapalooza Aftershows go on sale June 24.
