Raggamuffin, Big Day Out Returning

McManus Entertainment announced that reggae, roots and dub festival Raggamuffin will return to New Zealand for its fifth year Jan. 28 at Rotorua International Stadium.

McManus says “fans will be blown away” when the lineup is released shortly.

In the meantime, CRS Management confirmed that Big Day Out will return to NZ next January.

Speculation had the event leaving NZ after its longtime home, Auckland’s Mt. Smart Stadium, wanted to charge more for venue rent and get a larger slice of bar sales.

In a statement, CRS said, “Leaving New Zealand or Auckland is the last thing Big Day Out wants to do,” but it is believed that the festival is negotiating with other venues.
