Hard Rock Eyes Atlantic City

There could be a new piece of oceanfront property on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, N.J., should a state environmental agency OK a recent coastal construction permit from Hard Rock International.

The company has proposed building a $275 million development that would reportedly feature an elevated Hard Rock Café jutting out over the water.

Plans for the complex also include a casino, hotel, restaurants, bars and a rock ’n’ roll museum, according to documents obtained by the Press Of Atlantic City.

“The combination of these public improvements will add significantly to the quantity and quality of public open space in this area of the beach and Boardwalk,” Hard Rock said in its application. “These new and expanded open space amenities will replace a deteriorated and disturbed area of the beach and boardwalk.”

A construction schedule for the development is yet to be released.
