Set for a Sept. 13 release on the band’s own imprint, Panic Of Girls is Blondie’s ninth studio album. While the number of releases might seem a bit light for a band that started out in the late 1970s, we would be amiss not to point out that there was a 17-year gap between the group’s sixth album, 1982’s The Hunter, and album No. 7, No Exit, released in 1999.

Who’s in Blondie these days? Of course, it wouldn’t be Blondie without singer Deborah Harry, who along with original members Clem Burke and Chris Stein, form a direct connection to the band’s 1970s CBGB days. Bassist Leigh Foxx joined in 1997, keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen in 2008 and guitarist Tommy Kessler began playing in the band in 2010.

Touring Europe through July, Blondie’s U.S. / Canada roadwork begins in Prior Lake, Minn., at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel Sept. 4. Other stops include Council Bluffs, Iowa, at Harrah’s Stir Cove Sept. 5; Chicago’s House Of Blues Sept. 7; Windsor, Ontario, at Caesars Windsor The Colosseum Sept. 9; New York City’s Highline Ballroom Sept. 12-13; Durham, N.C., at the Performing Arts Center Sept. 21; Clearwater, Fla., at Ruth Eckerd Hall Sept. 24; Austin, Texas, at Austin City Limits Live at Moody Theater Sept. 29; Los Angeles at Club Nokia Oct. 5 and Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Beach Oct. 8.
