The Barclays Center in Brooklyn has a new partner that should help bring a little more upscale entertainment to the venue.

The New Jersey Nets basketball team, which is set to debut its new NBA digs September 2012, has partnered with the nearby Brooklyn Academy of Music to help take care of otherwise dark nights.

BAM is a performing arts venue known for presenting innovative works of theatre, music and dance.

BAM is expected to recommend large-scale performing arts productions to be staged at the 19,000-capacity arena.
