Looking Good At Beauregard
Dominique Revert’s third Festival Beauregard in France nearly doubled in size by pulling 50,000 over three days July 1-3.
There were 15,000 for a bill that had Motorhead, Kasabian, and Deus; 20,000 for ZZ Top, Morcheeba, and Agnes Obel; and then another 15,000 for The Ting Tings, Eels, The Kooks, and Keziah Jones.
This is the first year the festival has run for three days. In 2009 a two-dayer attracted 8,500 per day and last year’s renewal did about 15,000 per day.
Revert, who heads Alias Production, has sited the festival in a park in the shadow of Chateau Beauregard at St. Clair, a tourist magnet for visitors touring Normandy.
The other acts in the lineup included Aaron, Anna Calvi, Patrice, Archive, and Two Door Cinema Club.
