Busy Days Ahead For Deadmau5

Since we last looked at Deadmau5’s late summer/early fall tour, the electronic artist has slotted additional dates for several cities and pushed back the release of his live DVD. Oh, and he’s looking for someone to design a new head for him.

Kicking off his summer North American tour with an appearance at in Chicago Aug. 7, Deadmau5’s original itinerary had him playing single nights in major cities such as Los Angeles, Boston and Montreal.

However, fame can be a fickle mistress and Deadmau5’s revised itinerary now has him working even harder, playing two shows in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the PNE Forum, Aug. 11-12; four shows in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium Aug. 25-27; Atlanta’s Tabernacle Sept. 13-14; Montreal’s Metropolis Sept. 20-Oct. 1; four nights in New York City at Roseland Ballroom Oct. 5-8; and four nights at Boston’s House of Blues Oct. 11-14.

Deadmau5 has also added Las Vegas to the routing, playing The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan Sept. 2-3.

Tickets for the additional shows as well as the newly listed Vegas gigs are already on sale.

The release date for Deadmau5’s DVD – “Live @ Earls Court” – also has a change of schedule. Originally planned to drop July 5, the disc’s release has been delayed until Aug. 2 in order to add “technical enhancements.” The live DVD depicts Deadmau5 history-making performance as the first electronic artist to sell out the 19,000-capacity venue in London.

Finally, the challenge to fans to create a new Deadmau5 head is underway, but you only have a couple of days to meet the July 13 deadline. For inspiration, check out the 10 pre-released submissions posted at Talenthouse.com.
