Patrick Stump’s Summer Tour

Patrick Stump has announced his second U.S. solo tour since Fall Out Boy went on hiatus.

In April the singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist played several U.S. residencies followed by a few European gigs.

Stump will return to U.S. stages with a summer tour that begins Aug. 3 in Minneapolis at Varsity Theater. Shows are booked through an Aug. 24 show in New Orleans at Parish At House Of Blues.

Additional dates include St. Louis at Fubar (Aug. 4); Philadelphia’s World Café Live (Aug. 10); Providence, R.I., at The Met (Aug. 13); Washington, D.C., at Rock And Rock Hotel (Aug. 14); Tampa, Fla., at Orpheum (Aug. 21); and Atlanta’s Vinyl At Center Stage (Aug. 22).

According to a post on Stump’s website, a pre-sale is scheduled to begin this week.

Stump released his debut EP, Truant Wave, in February. His debut album, Soul Punk, is expected to be released soon. A video for a new tune called “Explode” was posted on New York Magazine’s Vulture blog in May with the caption “Soul Punk: coming late Summer.”

Fall Out Boy last performed in October 2009 during a support tour for Blink-182. In February 2010 members of the band, which formed in 2001, each separately announced that FOB was taking a break.
