With three weeks of additional North American dates added to Bright Eyes’ schedule, the indie folk band will have plenty to do before it winds down its summer tour at .

The North American summer tour kicks off July 27 in Lewiston, N.Y., at Artpark. The new dates begin Aug. 25 in Detroit at The Majestic with shows booked through a Sept. 15 gig in Dallas at The Palladium.

Conor Oberst and the gang will also play Holyoke, Mass., at Mountain Park (Aug. 28); Providence, R.I., at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel (Aug. 30); Norfolk, Va., at NorVa (Sept. 3); Washington, D.C., at 9:30 Club (Sept. 4); Baltimore at Rams Head Live! (Sept. 5); Athens, Ga., at Georgia Theatre (Sept. 8); and Lake Buena Vista, Fla., at House Of Blues (Sept. 11).

In addition to playing in Montreal at Parc Jean Drapeau July 30 and in Ontario at Hog’s Back Park Aug. 27, the group has added another Canadian stop in London, Ontario, at London Music Hall Aug. 26.

The band takes the stage at Austin City Limits Music Festival in Texas at Zilker Park Sept. 16.

Titus Andronicus opens for Bright Eyes Aug. 28, Dr. Dog opens Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, and First Aid Kit takes over Sept. 3-15.

Tickets for the new dates go on sale beginning Friday.

Bright Eyes is touring in support of The People’s Key, which was released on Saddle Creek in February.
