A Festival Fit For A Prince

Prince is bringing a few of his “Welcome 2 America” buddies to Europe for a new festival named after his backing band, The New Power Generation.

The “Welcome 2 America” tour, which began on the East Coast in December 2010, featured performances from Prince and the NPG as well as acts handpicked by the Purple One.

The NPG Music & Art Festival takes place Aug. 6-7 at 10 Øren in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Prince will take the stage both nights of the festival. Chaka Khan and Nikka Costa will also perform both days. Aug. 6 will feature Larry Graham & Graham Central Station and Raphael Saadiq. Janelle Monáe joins Prince and the gang Aug. 7.

Tickets to the festival are on sale now. Fans can choose between regular tickets, Purple VIP tickets or the Purple VIP Lounge Experience. Purple perks include a wristband, a separate entrance, a T-shirt, access to the VIP tent (with bar), and access to the VIP restrooms.

Additional European shows include gigs in Italy, Finland, Norway, Germany, Ireland, and Sweden.
