Lee MacDougall To Play ‘All The Right Places’

2011 is shaping up to be a very good year for Brit singer/songwriter/guitarist Lee MacDougall. The artist-on-the-rise will launch his second U.S. tour in August and will have a new self-produced CD to go with it.

MacDougall isn’t one of those artists that’s mentioned constantly on “Entertainment Tonight” nor are his offstage antics the subject of countless tabloid reports and TMZ exclusives. Instead, he’s a reminder that hard work, determination and passion for music are still viable commodities in the glitz-filled, Twitter-centric new millennium.

Pollstar first mentioned MacDougall in a February posting that quickly filled with comments from fans praising his performances. At that time, MacDougall had just released a self-produced effort called If Walls Could Talk and was about to embark on his first U.S. tour which included a stop at SXSW in Austin. Later in the year, he opened for Bon Jovi at London’s – a pretty nifty accomplishment for someone whose career up to this point has been a textbook case of do it yourself.

MacDougall’s “All The Right Places” U.S. tour starts and ends at New York City’s Bitter End with the journey launching Aug. 4 at the famed venue and wrapping Oct. 1. The two-month routing sandwiched in between the bookend dates includes shows at Philadelphia’s World Café Live Aug. 5; Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley Aug. 13; Louisville, Ky.,, at Uncle Slayton’s Aug. 19; St. Louis at Cicero’s Aug. 20; Houston’s Continental Club Aug. 24; San Diego at Humphrey’s Concerts By The Bay Sept. 7; Hollywood’s Hotel Café Sept. 8; San Francisco at The Elbo Room Sept. 12; Chicago’s Double Door Sept. 27; and Burlington, Vt., at Radio Bean Sept. 27.

The U.S. tour comes with a new CD, For A Few Tales More. and includes a couple of songs that have already become concert favorites – “Smile” and “Hindsight.”

Following the U.S. tour, MacDougall heads to Germany and Italy as well as his native U.K. where he’ll open for Rumer. For more information, click here for the official website and here for MacDougall’s Facebook page.
