Optimus Deals With 4-Day Stretch

This year’s Optimus Alive festival in Lisbon stretched to four days but still managed to attract 40,000 per day, easily breaking its own attendance records.

The festival added the fourth day because last year it pulled 40,000 per day and event promoter Everything Is New felt it was time to expand.

Several European festivals were hit with wet weather during the first two days of July, but the only storm at Lisbon’s Alges Park was of dust.

The weather around the Portuguese capital had been dry for days and the winds that blow around that area of the coast soon lifted the topsoil.

The acts kicking up a storm July 6-9 included Coldplay, Foo Fighters, 30 Seconds To Mars, Iggy & The Stooges, The Chemical Brothers, Kaiser Chiefs, White Lies and Grinderman.
