Reid Named Epic CEO

Antonio “L.A.” Reid has been named Chairman/CEO of Epic Records.

He will report to Sony Music Entertainment CEO Doug Morris and oversee day-to-day operations.

Reid previously was Chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group, President/CEO of Arista Records and co-founded LaFace Records.

The Epic roster will soon include select constestants from new TV show “The X Factor,” of which Reid will be part of the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, according to a statement. “The X Factor” will air this fall.
