The Postelles’ Summer Undercover + Fall Tour
The EP, titled Summer Undercovers, features four cover songs including “Ask” from The Smiths, “California Sun” by Joe Jones, Eric Cover’s “Whole Wide World,” and the band’s version of The Ramones’ “Beat on the Brat.” The Ramones cover was recorded live at The Postelle’s record release show at New York’s Mercury Lounge. Fans can download Summer Undercovers through the band’s website or facebook page.
The band put out the EP as a thank you to fans for their support with the album release and late spring/early summer headline tour. After The Postelles parted ways with Capitol, the band’s self-titled debut album was finally released June 7 on +1 Records.
Fans will have more opportunities to support The Postelles when the band joins The Wombats on tour in October. Those dates begin Oct. 19 at New York’s Webster Hall with shows scheduled through a Nov. 12 gig at Seattle’s The Crocodile.
Additional stops include Philadelphia at Johnny Brenda’s (Oct. 22); Chapel Hill, N.C., at Local 506 (Oct. 25); Houston at Fitzgerald’s (Oct. 29); Kansas City, Mo., at The Record Bar (Nov. 2); and Columbus, Ohio, at Outland Live (Nov. 4).
