Launched last October, John Mellencamp’s “No Better Than This” tour will cross the one-year mark this fall as the Hoosier State’s favorite rocker slots new dates for the U.S. and Canada.

Like a certain battery-driven hyped-up bunny this tour keeps on going and going in support of Mellencamp’s T Bone Burnett-produced “No Better Than This” album. The fall leg of the tour begins in Boston at the Wang Theatre at the Citi Performing Arts Center Oct. 25. Other stops include Montreal’s Place des Arts Oct. 27; London, Ontario, at Centennial Hall Oct. 28; Reading, Pa., at Sovereign Perf. Arts Center Nov. 4; Savannah, Ga., at the Johnny Mercer Theatre Nov. 11; Milwaukee, Wis., at the Riverside Theatre Nov. 16 and Rockford, Ill., at the Coronado Performing Arts Center Nov. 18.

Last destination on the schedule is Indianapolis at Clowes Memorial Hall, bringing Mellencamp’s journey back to his home state of Indiana. Although he had shows leading up to the 2010 tour launch, “No Better Than This” officially got underway with two gigs in Bloomington, Ind., in late October 2010.

As with past dates on the current tour, each evening is split into three sections with Mellencamp performing acoustically, accompanied by a small combo and backed by his full rock band. Each show opens with a screening of “It’s About You,” the documentary about Mellencamp’s 2009 tour with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson.

Ticket sales begin Aug. 5. Visit Mellencamp.com for more information.
