Murray Lawyer’s Saving Grace

Attorneys for Dr. Conrad Murray, who is accused of causing the death of Michael Jackson, told Judge Michael Pastor in a Los Angeles court that jurors in the case should be sequestered – from Nancy Grace.

In light of the bombastic TV personality’s performance during the recent Casey Anthony trial, attorney J. Michael Flanagan told the judge it wasn’t necessary to completely sequester the jury, but “during the hours Nancy Grace is on TV.”

The judge said Conrad’s defense team was free to file a formal motion, but didn’t feel it was necessary – adding that the court can’t afford it, anyway, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Grace may not be the only thing Murray trial jurors won’t be seeing. Judge Pastor did rule that they won’t be watching previously unseen footage from Jackson’s “This Is It” rehearsals to determine his state of health before he died suddenly in June 2009.

Pastor agreed with attorneys for Sony Pictures Entertainment the clips have significant value and shouldn’t be shown publicly without a good reason. After personally viewing some of the footage, Pastor was convinced.

“There is absolutely nothing in those materials that could have been of assistance to the [Murray] defense,” Pastor said.
