Reports: WME Loses Building Spat

William Morris Endeavor Entertainment has reportedly come out on the losing end of its arbitration over the lease of its Beverly Hills, Calif., building.

The company backed out of its multimillion-dollar lease after William Morris Agency merged with Endeavor.

The new company determined the terms of its lease were violated by George Comfort & Sons when it allowed rival Gersh agency to move into a space next door to the property.

The Beverly Hills Courier and Deadline Hollywood published unconfirmed reports of the arbitration results, and both say the outcome – arbitration is said to be in the damages phase at press time – could be extremely pricey for WME.

Deadline Hollywood reports an unnamed source claims the agency “could be on the hook for anywhere from $25 million to $70 million” and blamed agency chief (and Live Nation board member) Ari Emanuel for the lease dispute.
