In an announcement issued Sunday tour organizers said the nature of the illness left the band “no option” other than to cancel dates.

From InFlames.com:

“We have had the most amazing and fun times as part of the Mayhem tour and we are truly grateful for all the support the whole festival has shown us. We will be back at the start of 2012. Once again our apologies.”

Still on the books is the band’s Europe tour scheduled to begin Sept. 14 in Santiago, Spain.
