Rachael Yamagata’s Next Road Trip

The singer/songwriter maps out a very extensive tour in support of her upcoming new release, “Chesapeake.”

Chesapeake drops Oct. 11 on Yamagata’s own imprint, Frankenfish Records. For help funding the recording sessions behind the new album, Rachael Yamagata turned to direct-to-fan website PledgeMusic.

“It was a leap of faith to trust that all of the pieces would somehow fall together even if it seemed we were crazy. And they did,” Yamagata said in a statement. “I am grateful beyond words to my fans and PledgeMusic who have helped bring Chesapeake to life.”

But Chesapeake isn’t Yamagata’s only new music coming out this year, having contributed to “The Muppets” motion picture soundtrack with a cover of Gonzo’s “I’m Going To Go Back There Someday.”

The tour begins in Portland, Maine, at the Port City Music Hall Oct. 24. Other stops on the two-month routing include Ithaca, N.Y., at Delilah’s Oct. 27; Boston’s Brighton Music Hall Oct. 30; Baltimore’s Sound Stage Nov. 2; Detroit’s St. Andrews Hall Nov. 7; Chicago’s Logan Square Nov. 8; Seattle at The Crocodile Nov. 22; Dallas at The Loft Dec. 4; Nashville at 12th & Porter Dec. 8; Hoboken, N.J., at Maxwell’s Dec. 20 and New York at City Winery Dec. 21-22.
