Australia’s Soundwave Revolution Canceled

Soundwave Revolution, the new Australian traveling festival that boasted Van Halen as its headliner, is not happening.

Scheduled to begin Sept. 24 in Brisbane and produced by the folks behind the country’s annual Soundwave tour, Soundwave Revolution was to include performances by Alice CooperPanic! At The DiscoSum 41HatebreedBad ReligionHole plus many other acts.

Organizers were expected to announce a co-headline act last week, according to Melbourne’s Herald Sun. The newspaper reports that failure to secure a co-headliner ultimately led to the festival’s demise.

A message on the festival’s website states that some of the individual bands on the Soundwave Revolution lineup will travel to Australia and many special shows are being planned, including “multi band/mini festival line-ups in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.”
