Big Crowd For Evansville Finale

Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Ind., saw a big crowd, complete with tailgaters, for its final concert with Kenny Chesney Aug. 7.

City officials voted to close the 55-year-old, 12,252-capacity venue as of Sept. 17 until a decision can be made on the building’s future.

Construction of an 11,000-capacity, $127 million downtown arena on schedule to open in November started the debate about whether to renovate Roberts Stadium or tear it down.
