Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2011 Lineup Revealed

Buddy Miller, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson & Merle Haggard, Bright Eyes, and Robert Plant & the Band of Joy are just a few of the acts performing at this year’s edition of .

The annual event takes funded by San Francisco venture capitalist Warren Hellman place Sept. 30 through Oct. 2 at Speedway, Lindley and Marx meadows in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. The festival is once again absolutely free with no tickets needed. Even dogs (on leash) are allowed to hang out at the park and enjoy some good tunes. 

The extensive 2011 lineup features the Del McCoury Band & the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Bela Fleck, Kurt Vile & the Violators, The Blind Boys of Alabama,Jessica Lea Mayfield, Cass McCombs, Ryan Bingham & the Dead Horses, Broken Social Scene, The Wronglers with Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Bob Mould, The Devil Makes Three, Thurston Moore, Fitz & the Tantrums, The Felice Brothers and Elbow.

Ricky Skaggs will also take the stage along with Gomez, Steve Earle and the Dukes (and Duchesses) featuring Allison Moorer, Dark Star Orchestra, Justin Townes Earle, M. Ward, The Jayhawks, The Low Anthem, Earl Scruggs, The Civil Wars, DeVotchKa, Robert Earl Keen, and Punch Brothers featuring Chris Thile. M.C. Hammer will even be there as part of the children’s program.

More artists will be announced soon.

Individual day, stage and set times will be posted on the website closer to the date of the festival.
