Raleigh’s The Brewery Razed

The Brewery, an active 350-capacity venue in Raleigh, N.C., was demolished Aug. 9 to make way for a drugstore and apartments.

The club, which has been active for 27 years, helped launch the careers of hometown acts Corrosion of Conformity and Ryan Adams, according to the city’s News Observer.

Some of the soon-to-be big names that came through were Jane’s Addiction, Georgia Satellites, Sheryl Crow, Blind Melon and Panic! At The Disco. The venue had shows lined up the rest of the year, including Agnostic Front Nov. 18.
