Black Eyed Peas Announce Rescheduled NYC Date

The Black Eyed Peas have a new date for their New York City show at Central Park.

The “Concert 4 NYC” was originally scheduled to take place June 9 but thunderstorms forced the postponement of the show planned for the park’s Great Lawn. The Sept. 30 date was announced today during a press conference held by BEP’s will.i.am and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

“I don’t know where to begin to tell you how proud I am to be performing here at Central Park for our rescheduled date,” will.i.am said according to Reuters. “And how sad I was when it got canceled by lightning.”

The concert will benefit the Robin Hood organization, which focuses on the poverty-stricken, and help fund new sites for The Black Eyed Peas’ Peapod Music and Arts Academies, which works with disadvantaged children.
