The last few years must have seemed like déjà vu all over again for the Polish-born artist. A member of the group Matt Bianco during the 1980s, Basia’s solo career took off with her 1987 release Time And Tide which included such hits as the album’s title track as well as “Prime Time TV” and “New Day For You.”

But Basia withdrew from the hit-making spotlight by the end of the 1990s, eventually choosing to work with Matt Bianco once again before releasing her fourth studio effort, It’s That Girl Again in 2009.

Fast forwarding to 2011 finds Basia preparing for the release of her live album, From Newport To London: Greatest Hits Live…And More. The album dropping Sept. 13 on eOne Music was recorded in Lódz, Poland.

Touring in support of the live release, Basia begins her tour with two nights in Minneapolis at Dakota Jazz Club Sept. 6-7. Other stops include West Bend, Wis., at the Kettle Morraine Fest Sept. 9, a third Dakota Jazz Club engagement Sept. 11 and Atlanta at Variety Playhouse Sept. 13.

You’ll also find Basia in New York City where she’ll play the Highline Ballroom Sept. 16 and the B.B. King Blues Club Sept. 17; Los Angeles at Club Nokia Sept. 24; San Diego’s Humphrey’s By The Bay Sept. 25; Fresno, Calif., at the Tower Theatre Sept. 28 and Seattle at The Triple Door Oct. 5.

Basia’s band consists of longtime collaborator / Matt Bianco bandmate Danny White on keyboards, drummer Marc Parnell, guitarist Giorgio Serci, Paul Booth on sax and backing vocalists Veronique Clarisse and Annick Clarisse-Willequet.
