State Fair Death Ruled Suicide

A man committed suicide in a parking lot outside the New York State Fair after he and his wife attended a Train/Maroon 5 concert there Aug. 25, according to police.

The couple reportedly argued during the concert on the fair’s opening day.

State Trooper Jack Keller said the man shot himself at about 11:45 p.m. outside his vehicle near the fair, which was in a Syracuse suburb.

Thousands of fairgoers streamed past the scene, which was roped off with yellow police tape, as the fair closed for the day, the Syracuse Post-Standard reported.

Two weeks earlier, Train and Maroon 5 were forced to reschedule a concert at the Indiana State Fair, where a storm caused a stage collapse that killed seven.
