If Little Richard and the MC5 ever had a baby, it would be The Jim Jones Revue. The London band rips through music like souls possessed. It’s frantic garage-band rock capable of destroying tall buildings with a single note.

Currently touring the U.S. and Canada, The Jim Jones Revue plays San Francisco’s The Independent tonight, Los Angeles’s Echo Thursday night and crosses the country for a gig in Brooklyn, N.Y., at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg Saturday evening. Other shows include Boston’s Brighton Music Hall Sept. 11; Montreal’s Casa De Popolo Sept. 12; Toronto at The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern Sept. 13 and Chicago at Schuba’s Tavern Sept. 14.

While you’re eyeballing the schedule, be sure to enter our contest for a copy of The Jim Jones Revue’s latest CD, Burning Your House Down. Produced by Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Grinderman) and released through Punk Rock Records, the album gives you a taste of what the band is all about and is meant to be played louder than your neighbors can stand it. If they don’t complain then it ain’t rock ‘n’ roll.

Pollstar is going to make winning a copy of Burning Your House Down as easy as a couple of mouse clicks. Just send an email with your name and mailing address to [email protected] and be sure to include “Jim Jones Revue” in the subject header. We’ll start drawing names in about a week.

And don’t forget to check out The Jim Jones Revue’s website. Just turn your speakers up past “11” and click here.
