Mastodon Announces U.S. Headline Tour

Next month Mastodon will hit the road for its first U.S. tour of the year. Dates are scheduled from coast to coast.

The tour is in support of the heavy metal band’s fifth studio album, The Hunter. Fans can get a free digital copy of the album by purchasing a pair of tickets online through Sept. 26. The Hunter will be released on Reprise Records the next day.

The U.S. dates begin Oct. 25 in Austin, Texas, at La Zona Rosa. Before leaving the Lone Star State Mastodon will open for Soundgarden Oct. 26 in Grand Prairie at Verizon Theatre At Grand Prairie, followed by an Oct. 27 show in Houston at Fitzgerald’s. The band wraps up the month with an Oct. 29 set at Voodoo Experience in New Orleans.

The tour continues Nov. 1 in Los Angeles at The Wiltern. Dates are booked through a Dec. 1 show in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., at House Of Blues.

Stops along the way include Sacramento, Calif. (Nov. 2); San Francisco (Nov. 3); Boise, Idaho (Nov. 7); Salt Lake City (Nov. 8); Denver (Nov. 9); Milwaukee (Nov. 12); Kansas City, Mo. (Nov. 14); New York City (Nov. 19); Philadelphia (Nov. 20); Boston (Nov. 21); Washington, D.C. (Nov. 27); and Asheville, N.C. (Nov. 29).

The routing also includes two Canadian shows: Nov. 23 in Montreal at Metropolis and Nov. 25 in Toronto at Kool Haus.

Dillinger Escape Plan and Red Fang are coming along as support.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale Thursday at 12 p.m. local time.
