Sting Goes ‘Back To Bass’

Sting strips down to the basics as he takes a five-piece band on the road for gigs in intimate venues.

Called the “Back To Bass Tour,” the outing is in celebration of Sting’s 25 years as a solo artist and launches a month after the Sept. 27 release of his box set, appropriately titled Sting: 25 Years.

Produced by RZO Entertainment and promoted by the friendly folks at Live Nation, the tour begins at Boston’s Wang Theatre Oct. 21, plays Upper Darby. Pa., at the Tower Theatre Oc t. 26 and Washington, D.C., at the DAR Constitution Hall Oct. 29. Other stops include Toronto at Massey Hall Nov. 1; Rosemont, Ill., at the Rosemont Theatre Nov. 5; Detroit’s Fox Theatre Nov. 6 and Miami Beach at the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater Nov. 12. Other towns on the routing include Houston (Nov. 17); Denver (Nov. 20); Los Angeles (Nov. 28) and Seattle (Dec. 5).
