The Black Keys Headed Back To Europe

The Black Keys will make up for the European dates the band canceled earlier this year with a headline tour in January and February 2012.

In addition to canceling a portion of the band’s March 2011 European tour, the duo also called off its New Zealand and Australian tour. A statement from the Keys explained that “an arduous year of touring and promotion has drained the band and necessitated time off.”

Now that the blues-rock band has had time for some R&R in-between shows, fans can look forward to the 2012 European tour, which begins Jan. 23 in Merksem, Belgium at Lotto Arena. Shows are booked through a Feb. 10 gig in London at Alexandra Palace.

Vocalist/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer/producer Patrick Carney will also play Lille, France (Jan. 24); Paris (Jan. 25); Hamburg, Germany (Jan. 27); Berlin (Jan. 28); Milan (Jan. 30); Zurich, Switzerland (Jan. 31); and Eindhoven, Netherlands (Feb. 1). Additional United Kingdom dates include Nottingham (Feb. 3), Edinburgh (Feb. 4), and Manchester (Feb. 6).

A fan pre-sale begins Wednesday for members on the official mailing list. If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s still time to join and get access to the pre-sale. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday.
