Reid Tops Canadian Country Awards

Johnny Reid once again came out on top at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards Sept. 12, scoring dual honors including best male artist and the fans’ choice award for the second year in a row.

Reid opened the show at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, with a performance before gathering his trophies, which also included best video of the year and a humanitarian award.

Runner-up in the awards race went to newcomer Dean Brody, who took home best album, best single and best songwriter nods for Trail In Life.

Other winners included best female artist Terry Clark and best group Hey Romeo.

Performances at the show featured Clark, Doc Walker, George Canyon, Emerson Drive and Jim Cuddy.
