Annie Does It For Kids
Annie Lennox will deliver a special one-night-only performance on behalf of Scotland’s kids.
Lennox will perform at the Hilton Glasgow Oct. 1 in a benefit for the Clyde 1 & Clyde 2 Cash For Kids charity that was founded in 1981 to aid Scotland’s most vulnerable children. Clyde 1 & 2 are radio stations in Scotland.
“I’m delighted to be performing for this very special evening,” Lennox said in a statement. “Cash For Kids is making a positive difference to the lives of so many of our children living in Scotland who really deserve to be given the life changing support that they receive.”
Called the “Icons Summer Ball,” the benefit is sponsored by fashion retailer Cruise. For more information, click here for Annie Lennox’s website and here for Cash For Kids’ web HQ.
A Keller Way To Close Out 2011
Keller Williams announced his plans for the last week of the year, playing for kids during the days and grownups during the nights.
The final days and nights of 2011 have Williams playing Raleigh, N.C., at the Lincoln Theatre Dec. 28; Richmond, Va., at The National Dec. 29; Norfolk, Va., at the NorVA Dec. 30 and Wilmington, N.C., at the Brooklyn Arts Center.
For his Dec. 29 and 30 shows in Richmond and Norfolk respectively, Williams will do two sets with the first one featuring him performing solo and the second pairing him with his Kdubalicious project. Also appearing Dec. 29 and 30 will be Pimps Of Joytime.
New Year’s Eve in Wilmington will reunite Williams with his longtime friends The Keels, featuring Larry and Jenny Keel.
But the above only describes Williams nighttime plans. Daytime concerts at each venue will feature the artist doing his “Keller Plays For Kids” show.
And, as if the last month of the year isn’t special enough for Williams, his 17th recording, Bass, is due out in December. For more information, visit KellerWilliams.net.
