Scheduled for Cardiff, Wales, at Millennium Stadium Oct. 8, will feature performances by Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green, Craig David, Leona Lewis, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Ne-Yo, Alexandra Burke and Alien Ant Farm.

Various Jackson family members will also perform, including The Jackson Brothers and the group 3T consisting of Tito Jackson’s sons. Hosted by comedian/actor Jamie Foxx, the concert will also include Beyoncé appearing in a pre-taped segment.

During an interview, The Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am talked about what Michael Jackson meant to him.

“When I was a little kid of six or seven growing up in Los Angeles, there was Michael Jackson recording Thriller, and all his early hits, just a few miles across town,” will.i.am said, according to the BBC. “Obviously I didn’t know him at the time, but I loved him as a fan.

“Then one day about four years ago, with The Black Eyed Peas well-established, I got a call from him I will never forget. I then had the great privilege of working with him and getting to know him and his beautiful family.”

However, not everyone is happy about the tribute to Michael Jackson planned for early October. Although Jackson family matriarch Katherine Jackson has endorsed the day-long event, her sons Jermaine and Randy Jackson have criticized the timing of the show, saying it shouldn’t take place while Dr. Conrad Murray is on trial for allegedly causing Michael Jackson’s death. Janet Jackson recently said she would not attend the tribute because the event coincided w I th Murray’s trial.
